We filmed “Endangered” in the summer of 2019 and it’s only become more relevant this summer. We’re not talking about some kind of parasitic creatures rooting around in our backyard ponds … or the outlawing of swimming (although, shame on you – you know who you are). Our horror-comedy short Endangered centers around a high school boy’s inability to decide what to do with his own body once it becomes host to a parasitic, endangered species that “may very well be crucial to the survival of humanity.”

Accolades

Since it was finished in 2020, our reproductive rights satire “Endangered” has screened at 35 film festivals across the world, and has racked up awards for Walker Borba’s performance as Roger, as well as awards for best director and best short.

If you’ve been waiting to watch this 18-minute satirical creature romp in all its glory, your wait is over:

Watch it here!

Meet the cast

Endangered features performances from Walker Borba, who has previously graced the screen in cult hit “Popstar: Never Stop Stopping,” as well as Olivia Cordell and Sacaiah Shaw.

Saturday Night Live alum Cheri Oteri plays Roger’s doctor, who delivers some bad news … among other things.

Hilarious Canadian power couple Baram and Sniekus play Roger’s parents Dan and Fran, who respect their son’s right to bodily autonomy and appreciate the bodily sacrifice he must make for the good of mankind … respectively.

Atsuko Okatsuka (named one of Variety’s top 10 comics to watch in 2022 and soon to tape her first HBO stand-up special), Ajarae Coleman and Beth Lapides make up the board of the Earth Institute, the Endangered universe’s pro-life PETA organization.

Camryn Manheim is an educational video instructor who takes a hard-line about teens remaining abstinent when it comes to … swimming, and Jim Woods (The Last O.G.) plays Roger’s disapproving coach.

“Well, that’s quite a fun spin on the abortion issue! Loved so many parts! Including dad being “hormonal.” Brava- Bravo-Bravi! “Hysterical” indeed!” said the Be Epic! Film Fest and we hope you agree!

Our feature “Gospel of Ted,” took home the top honors of Best Feature at the North Carolina Film Festival this weekend!

The film follows Ferrari Thunderbird Taylor, who’s hellbent on leaving her dead-end job as a human sign, and moving to the bustling metropolis of Charlotte, North Carolina. Unfortunately, she runs into trouble when her dumbass husband invests all their money into a shady crypto-currency at the behest of a doomsday prophet only known as “Ted.” It’s Q-Anon meets Bitcoin as Ferra tries to get her money back and salvage her reputation.

The short is in consideration at a number of film festivals across the Southeast, and has been selected at:

Alex Wroten at the North Carolina Film Festival

Alex dropped in for a virtual Q&A with the team at the NC Film Festival which you can watch here. Watch to the end for Alex’s explanation of the origins of the phrase “Well Dang!”, and draw a blank on his favorite movie quote.
